Normally, I like Salmon
There's no official discussion on what's going on, so far as I can tell -- so I'll explain:

Every once-in-a-while, I'll post to my LiveJournal ... shortly afterwards, I'll get an IM from a AOL Instant Messenger user called (something) Salmon.

In my case, it's FabulousSalmon. Maybe it's because I'm gay?
This bot connected me via AIM to a random college-aged chica (who also has an LJ). We both appeared to the other with the same screen name (FabulousSalmon was her; I showed up as (something else)Salmon to her, according to her.)

When some Google searches helped me to finally understand/care what was going on and I explained to her that it was indirectly my fault because the bot finds recent LJ posts, she then started to ask me about myself *after* I explained I didn't IM her and she didn't IM me. I know she wasn't being weird, but still... ew.
Girls... gross. (j/k... sorta)

Que será, será.

In resolution, what I've done is removed my AIM name from my profile so as to stop the bot from contacting me.
